Biographies

Terry Larter - Singer, Songwriter and Musician

My first conscious memories of music go back to being in a pram as a baby! My mother was a teenage mother of the sixties, who enjoyed listening to a portable radio playing in the bottom of the pram! Radio pop music played a big part of my childhood, which was great. Although I was never motivated or encouraged to play or sing myself, I loved to sing and dance to all of my favourite pop songs.

I first really began to sing in 1995 with Jill Purce, a Shaman ca overtone singer and I took to it like a duck to water! After a year of practising every day I was producing incredible angelic tones and voices. This was to prepare me for my deep and delicious journey with free voice singing, and song writing. I met Naked Voice teacher Chloe Goodchild in 1996, on one of her weekend workshops. Again by the end of the weekend I realised that I had a natural talent for free voice and vocal expression. It was, and still is, a total liberation for me to sing my soul, transforming grief and repressed emotions into moments and feelings of beauty.

New songs started to flood out of every pore of my being! Wonderful expressions of life, which had been locked away for decades, were now set free to find their way consciously into my own heart and mind, sung for the simple joy of being alive. My free voice songs, poems and music have a life of their own and find their way into other people’s hearts and lives, creating haling and inspiration. My debut album, Simple Joy, is a small collection of my early songs that for me embody the feeling of simple joys in my life.

I am currently sketching and recording my next two albums called Calming Waters and Breath of Love. Music is a very personal journey for me. When I am performing and singing at my best, I notice how open and vulnerable I am! This does require a certain amount of courage, trust and faith, but as the saying goes “there’s only one way more challenging than this way and that’s not this way!” So this way for me, is the voice of my soul and I’ll keep on following it, even when it takes me to those sweaty unknown places of creative expression and beauty.

Jay Bosisto - Artist

As a child I loved art, but like so many I was encouraged to concentrate on more academic subjects. As an adult my out let for creativity came through photography, career and family life.

In the year 2001 I began working along side my partner, Terry Larter, in creating five paintings to accompany his debut album called Simple Joy. This was an amazing creative journey for us both; One of experimenting, trust, joy, vulnerability and healing. The images came out of the feelings that the songs evoked in me, as if I was painting the colour of the sound. Hence we have called our label The Colour of Sound!

I have now met other intuitive artists and realise that the art we create is our soul expressing some small part of the beauty of Life.
